Suffolks Cuddly Baa
The body and fleece are from Suffolks wool, with black wool from cross breeds used for the legs and head. This Cuddly Baa is about 8 inches high (20 cms) and about 9 inches (23 cms) long. They are designed as collector items and are not suitable for children under 3 years of age. However a shorn variation (ie without the woolly coat) is available at a slightly lower price.
These were developed by crossing Norfolk Horn ewes with Southdown rams in the early 1800’s. They are now one of the main breeds used in commercial flocks with over 2000 registered flocks.
They have a close-cropped white fleece with black faces and legs and no horns. They are large animals and lambs mature early.
